These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of margintheory.co and any engagement with Margin Theory.

About Margin Theory

Margin Theory is a fractional CFO practice operated by Jake Erickson. We provide monthly financial review, forecasting, cash flow planning, and related advisory services to founder-led businesses from Austin, Texas.

Engagement Agreement Governs

Client services are governed by a separate written engagement agreement between Margin Theory and the client. The engagement agreement controls all aspects of the services, fees, term, termination, confidentiality, and scope of work. Nothing on margintheory.co is an offer to provide services absent a signed engagement agreement.

Website Use

margintheory.co is an informational website. By using it you agree:

• Not to use the site for unlawful purposes
• Not to attempt to interfere with the site's operation
• Not to scrape or republish content without written permission

QuickBooks Online Integration

Margin Theory uses QuickBooks Online APIs solely to deliver services to engaged clients. Clients who authorize Margin Theory as a user of their QBO company may revoke that access at any time through QuickBooks. The internal tool used to call QBO ("Margin Theory CFO Prep") is not sold, licensed, or distributed to third parties.

Intellectual Property

Content on margintheory.co, including written materials, frameworks, and branding, is owned by Margin Theory. Clients receive a limited license to use deliverables (workbooks, plans, dashboards) produced under their engagement for their own business purposes.

No Warranty

margintheory.co and any information on it is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Margin Theory is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of margintheory.co or reliance on its content. For services rendered under an engagement agreement, liability is governed exclusively by that agreement.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
